By Yaghya Jappie

The Islamic Studies for Youth (ISFY) Programme at Masjidut Taqwa, under the guidance of Moulana Rushdie Nackerdien, marks its second year of nurturing young minds in the memorization of the Qur'an. This milestone is a testament to the dedication and commitment of both the students and their supportive parents.

The primary goal at ISFY is to create lasting connections between our youth and the glorious Qur'an, hoping that this bond will endure throughout their lives. The part-time hifth class continues to inspire hope and dedication among the youth, fostering an environment where students are eager to attend and commit to their Quranic education.

Moulana Rushdie, who has been teaching at Masjidut Taqwa for a few years, reflects on the rewarding journey of leading the part-time hifth class. He expresses his gratitude for the opportunity to serve both the Qur'an and the community through his role at Masjidut Taqwa Institute. Teaching at Masjidut Taqwa has been an honour.

Addressing the unique dynamics of engaging young minds in Islamic education, Moulana Rushdie acknowledges the difficulties but finds great joy in witnessing the enthusiasm and dedication of his students. Their eagerness to attend class and their commitment to memorizing the Qur'an fill him with optimism for the future.

The vital role of parents in supporting their children's Quranic education cannot be overstated. Moulana Rushdie commends the parents for their unwavering assistance and for ensuring that their children are well-prepared for each class. This partnership between parents and the institute is crucial in fostering a strong connection with the Qur'an.

Through his teaching journey, Moulana Rushdie has also learned valuable lessons. He notes the importance of significant effort to connect children with the Qur'an, especially in an age filled with distractions. His hope is that Allah protects and guides the youth and future generations towards a deeper understanding, Ameen.

As the ISFY class of 2024 progresses, the community at Masjidut Taqwa remains committed to nurturing young hearts and minds, ensuring that the teachings of the Qur'an are deeply rooted in their lives. This collaborative effort between students, parents, and educators continues to strengthen the spiritual foundation of our youth, promising a brighter future for all.
