MEC Gadija Brown attends MTLC Breakfast

By Naajidah Brown

On 26 May 2024, MTLC, in collaboration with the Taqwa Coffee Shop, hosted a ladies-only breakfast, honoured by the presence of MEC Gadija Brown and her mother. She shared wisdom with attendees, highlighting women's vital roles in homes and communities.

MTLC Chairperson Sister Ardiela Savahl had an insightful conversation with MEC, who, as a banker, was sworn into the financial department in Bloemfontein. Raised in PE, she still contributes to her community. She championed women's rights, stating, "There is nothing a woman can’t do," emphasizing self, family, community, and global impact.

The discussion also touched on MEC's advocacy for Palestine, stressing the importance of raising awareness about the oppression and atrocities faced by Palestinians. She urged communities worldwide to continue speaking out against these injustices.

We appreciate MEC and her time at the event. We also appreciate her sitting down with Sister Ardiela Savahl, speaking about these topics, and giving her perspective while mentioning Islamic perspectives as well.
