by Yaghya Jappie

Masjidut Taqwa offered enriching programmes tailored for children and women, aimed at nurturing creativity and spiritual growth. Weekends were filled with fun activities for kids, while ladies enjoyed motivational talks and Qira'ah, strengthening community bonds.

The Kids Programme, designed for ages 5 to 15, featured a variety of engaging activities each Saturday. On 16 March, children enjoyed Musallah crafting and kite-making, sparking creativity and joy. The following week, they created colourful lanterns and Palestinian bracelets. On 30 March, wooden moon and stars were crafted, culminating in the creation of heartfelt Eid cards on 6 April. These events not only entertained but also instilled a sense of accomplishment in the young participants.

For the women, the Ramadan Ladies Programme provided an inspiring space for reflection and personal growth. Each event highlighted female guest speakers and reciters, beginning with Hani’s beautiful Qira'ah and Appa Fatima Bhyat's talk, "Become the Best Version of Yourself" on 17 March. The series continued with Ustādah Razeena Nackerdien discussing "Gaza's Secret of Resilience: The Quran," and Haafidah Rahma’s recitation, paired with Sheikhah Mieshka’s insightful talk on using Ramadan as a blueprint for change. The final event featured Haafidah Ifrah and Fatima Hasan Nuur discussing the theme of sisterhood, leaving attendees inspired and uplifted.

Masjidut Taqwa also concluded Ramadan with the annual "Ramadan Superstars" event, celebrating the young participants who fasted or attempted to fast during the holy month. Held after the regular Eid programme, this event awarded certificates to the children, recognizing their efforts and dedication.

These programs not only emphasized the significance of Ramadan but also strengthened the spirit of community, creativity, and empowerment at Masjidut Taqwa, leaving a lasting impact on all participants.
